I am a PhD student in Health at Dalhousie University in Kjipuktuk (Halifax, Nova Scotia). My research focuses on the intersection of anti-Black racism, homophobia, and transphobia, and how experiences at this juncture can influence health and social service care access for Black gbtq+MSM in Canada.
I consider myself an activist and a community member first and foremost, and have been involved in numerous social movements such as #BlackLivesMatter and the student strikes that took place in Quebec in 2012 and 2019. I am passionate about social justice and strive to create meaningful connections to research, policy and practice. My research is a direct result of this passion and is my way of making a difference in the world.
